Astronomy Freshman Prize for Excellence
The Department of Astronomy at The University of Texas at Austin awards the selective Astronomy Freshman Prize for Excellence (AFPE) of $1000 to the best freshman admitted to the first year of the Undergraduate Program in Astronomy. Only those who selected Astronomy as a potential major on the ApplyTexas Admission Application are eligible.
Requirements
  1. Complete your ApplyTexas Freshman Admission Application for The University of Texas at Austin by February 1 of the Spring semester of your Senior year in high school.
  2. Submit your completed ApplyTexas Freshman Scholarship Application by December 1 of the year prior to entering UT Austin to be considered for all Freshman scholarships.
  3. Download and submit your completed AFPE application by April 10 of the Spring semester of your Senior year in high school. Applicants may begin submitting applications as early as October of each year and are urged to apply early rather than wait for the deadline.
