When awarding the Ronald M. and Marilou Brown Endowed Scholarship, in addition to considering an applicant’s relationship to a full-time faculty or staff member of UT Austin, the scholarship committee considers an applicant’s financial need, socioeconomic status, academic and extra-curricular achievements, and hardships. As with most scholarships awarded through the University, funds are limited and the selection process is highly competitive.
