When awarding the UT Scouting Award Scholarship, in addition to considering an applicant’s rank in the Boys Scouts of America, the scholarship committee considers an applicant’s financial need, socioeconomic status, academic and extra-curricular achievements, and hardships. As with most scholarships awarded through the University, funds are limited and the selection process is highly competitive.
